AMLS Module 4: Skin and Soft Tissue Infections
Module 4 of our AMR Life Support Course (AMLS). This module is an interactive lecture on skin and soft tissue Infections (SSTI).
This activity is specifically designed for clinicians, healthcare providers, and AMR stewards to address AMR at the hospital.
At the end of the module, learners should be able to:
Differentiate SSTI syndromes using structured clinical reasoning to identify non-purulent, purulent, and necrotizing infections.
Select targeted management strategies based on likely pathogens, disease severity, and the need for source control or surgical intervention.
Apply antimicrobial stewardship principles to optimize antibiotic use, including appropriate empiric selection, de-escalation, prevention, and avoidance of unnecessary therapy.
This module will take approximately 1 hour to complete.
