Module 5 of our AMR Life Support Course (AMLS). This module is an interactive lecture on nosocomial pneumonia.
This activity is specifically designed for clinicians, healthcare providers, and AMR stewards to address AMR at the hospital.
At the end of the module, learners should be able to:
Define hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP) and ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP).
Distinguish between true infection from colonization, and review relevant microbiology and likely resistance patterns.
Discuss empiric therapy, how to adjust treatment once culture results are available, appropriate durations of therapy, and prevention strategies.
This module will take approximately 1 hour to complete.
