AMR Problem-Solving Case 3: KPC Outbreak
The third and final case in our AMR problem-solving series, we investigate a neonatal ICU Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase (KPC) outbreak.
This activity is specifically designed for laboratory technologists, managers and clinicians involved in the use of diagnostic test results to guide rational use of antimicrobials and in antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) programmes.
At the end of the cases, learners should be able to:
Challenge learner knowledge gained to date through the various AMR courses on GHCPD
Solve real-world AMR cases that address the epidemiology, clinical manifestations, microbiology diagnosis and treatment of different bacteria/situations of global AMR concern
Apply practical use skills and viable solutions to aid in decision making and laboratory testing
(Approximately 60 minutes to complete the case)
