Learning Objectives

At the end of the course, learners should be able to:

  • Describe how a platform for rapid collation and dissemination of the design, data and experiences of diagnostic-based interventions can slow the spread of Variants of Concern (VOCs) and save lives and livelihoods

  • Participate in a broader global health community of critical stakeholders, including the non-health sector, by sharing interventions that will guide re-opening of economies

  • Promote openness and sharing during pandemics in an effort to more quickly inform and change testing guidance and policies

Agenda

Bringing together health and non-health sector stakeholders to keep updated on the use of testing in combination with other public health measures to guide best practices across regions as economies begin to open. In collaboration with key regional organizations such as Africa Centres for Disease Control & Prevention, Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Latin American Alliance for the Development of In Vitro Diagnostics, and International Diagnostic Centre/London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. This course covers the following topics:

  • Moving from pandemic response to control: living with the virus

  • Updates on vaccines, variants of concerns and testing

  • A COVID-19 evidence co-op

  • Case studies: mass gatherings and travel
